Turnaround & Retouching, Explained

You’re busy. You made time to book the session. You survived the awkwardness of sitting/posing/staring at the camera. Now all you want is the one thing that matters: your finished headshots. For most clients, the number one question is simple: When can I get my images?

Here’s the deal. When you schedule professional headshots in Cleveland, I strive to get your finished images back to you as quickly as possible. For me, that usually means within 72 hours.

Why? Because my workflow is streamlined. I have an efficient, repeatable process that allows me to deliver professional images that match how you look at your best…without taking weeks.

Here’s what to expect from your headshot session:

Headshot turnaround time is typically within 72 hours.

The majority of headshot sessions I conduct are completed within 72 hours. That includes capturing the images, selecting your favorites, and retouching the final pictures.

Why 72 hours? Here’s why:

  • You’re narrowing down your favorites on set (not agonizing over “proofs” for days)

  • I have an efficient and streamlined workflow

  • Companies need headshots for job searches, websites, speaking opportunities, promotions and more. If you need your pictures quickly, we can make that happen.

Do you have a set timeline?

(New job announcement, contract deadline, press release, conference?) Give me plenty of notice, and we’ll make it work.

Do professional headshots get “retouched?”

Yes and no. Retouching gets a bad rap. Images can look overly-airbrushed or fake if they’re not done properly. Here’s what retouching actually means:

  • Skin smoothing. Bad skin days happen. Professional headshot retouching gets rid of those temporary distractions without destroying your natural skin texture.

  • Some overall brightening and contrast adjustments. High-definition images can sometimes look harsh. Retouching solves that.

  • Minor hair corrections. Perhaps you missed a few stray hairs when you pulled your hair back? I’ll fix them.

Things retouching won’t do:

  • Alter the shape of your face

  • Make you look ten years younger

  • Turn you into someone else

Our goal is you, at your best and camera-ready.
